A Glimpse at the Chevy Cruze

There are a couple of minor changes to the Cruze. Chevy added a new Satin Steel Metallic exterior paint color option and now makes the turbodiesel engine option available on the hatchback configuration of the vehicle. There are four base trim levels to choose from in the Cruze lineup: L, LS, LT, and Premier.

Cruze has established itself as a tech-savvy option in the compact car segment with features like a seven-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capabilities. The Chevrolet Cruze was introduced in 2011, and it immediately proved itself a competitive compact vehicle that has given the competition a run for its money. The all-new model was created to replace the Cobalt, and it does an excellent job at that. Compared to the Cobalt, the Cruze is larger and has more refinement inside and out. It was initially offered as just a sedan with three trim levels, all of which included electric power steering, 10 airbags, and StabiliTrak electronic stability control. The engines included a 1.8-liter EcoTec with 138 horsepower and a turbocharged version of the same size, each of which was offered with a 6-speed manual or automatic. The Chevy Cruze Eco added low-rolling-resistance tires and active grille shutters, making it more efficient.

The 2013 Cruze got numerous upgrades to its equipment list, including Chevrolet MyLink as standard. Newly available safety equipment included Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, and Rear Park Assist. The Cruze Diesel arrived in 2014, making headlines as the first GM-made car with a diesel engine in the continent since the 1980s. The diesel did take a brief break from production, however, before returning for the 2017 model year.
