Power

The Chevy Colorado may be on the diminutive side, but it still packs a punch. Its base engine is a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder unit that puts out 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque.

Another option is a turbodiesel 2.8-liter version that produces 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Finally, there’s a 3.6-liter V6 engine that will give you 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque.

Both 4-cylinder engines come with a six-speed automatic transmission, but the V6 gets an eight-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is also standard, but four-wheel drive is available.

Towing and Hauling

You’ll appreciate what a small pickup truck for sale like the Chevy Colorado can do in terms of towing and hauling ability. The base engine can tow up to 3,500 pounds, and with the V6 engine, that increases to 7,000 pounds.

The turbodiesel engine has the highest tow rating of 7,700 pounds. It also has the best maximum payload of 1,550 pounds.

If you intend to take your Chevy Colorado off-road, there are two trims you’ll want to pick from. The Z71 comes with hill decent control, an automatic locking rear differential, and an off-road suspension.

With the ZR2, you will get driver-selectable full-locking front and rear differentials, a 2-speed transfer case, and off-road rocker protection. You can also add skid plates, tow hooks, and a front-bumper winch.

Interior

Up to five people will fit comfortably if you opt for the Crew cab. Standard features include vinyl upholstery and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
