If you are an avid fan of the Chevy Cruze, we have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that, as of right now, there are no plans to bring back the Chevy Cruze. While this spunky sedan will be missed, the good news is that it has as doppelganger of sorts in the Chevy Malibu.

Chevy Malibu Power and Fuel Economy

The base engine in the Chevy Malibu is a 1.5-liter unit that produces 160 horsepower. The other option is a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that generates 250 horsepower. A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is standard, but a 9-speed automatic comes in the Premier trim.

Front-wheel drive is standard. For a midsized sedan, the Chevy Malibu has outstanding fuel economy: 29 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.

Comfort

The interior in the Chevy Malibu comfortably fits up to five people, and the front seats are quite roomy. Cloth upholstery is standard, but leather is available. You can also get:

• 6-way power-adjustable front seats

• Heated and ventilated front seats

• Heated rear outboard seats

• A heated steering wheel

Tech

You’ll love all of the standard tech features in the new Chevy Malibu. First, the user-friendly infotainment system comes with an 8-inch touchscreen for easy access. Other built-in components include:

• Bluetooth®

• A 6-speaker stereo

• Proximity keyless entry

• Wireless Apple CarPlay™

• Wireless Android Auto™

• A USB port
