If you can’t decide which midsize SUV to buy, we can do something about that. Check out this side by side car comparison that matches up the Chevy Traverse to the Kia Telluride:
Power and Performance
The Chevy Traverse has a potent 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. This is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available.
For a sizable vehicle, the Chevy Traverse has very nice handling. It also has an outstanding suspension system that always ensures a very smooth ride.
While the Kia Telluride has a slightly bigger engine – a 3.8-liter V6 – it only offers 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. This is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Cargo Space
Very few midsize SUVs can match what the Chevy Traverse offers in terms of cargo space. You will get 23 cubic feet of storage behind the third row, 57.8 cubic feet when it’s folded, and 98.2 cubic feet with both back rows down.
In addition, there are many small-item storage areas in the cabin, including a bin beneath the cargo floor.
The numbers for the Kia Telluride are much lower: 21 cubic feet behind the third row, 46 cubic feet when it’s down, and 87 cubic feet with both rear rows folded.
Tech
You’ll love all of the tech features found in the Chevy Traverse. These include a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth®, six USB ports, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
The Kia Telluride has many of the same tech components. However, it only comes with five USB ports.
