Chevy Service

Whether you need a Chevy oil change or comprehensive Chevrolet service and care, Scott Chevrolet is the dealership for you. Our job goes beyond matching drivers with the perfect new vehicle for all their family driving or commuting needs. We’re also dedicated to keeping those vehicles safe and efficient on many more great rides. Here are some steps you can take to service and prepare your car for spring with the support of our team.

Inspect the Battery

In extreme weather, like temperatures below freezing, your car’s battery can lose a significant amount of capacity. That’s why it’s a good idea to inspect the battery when the weather begins to warm so you know if it needs replacement.

Check Hoses and Belts

Your vehicle relies on a series of hoses and belts to run. Unfortunately, they can be prone to cracking and damage over time, especially in the cold. Inspecting your hoses and belts for spring can ensure safe driving all season long.

Change the Oil

The oil in your vehicle protects the engine by cooling and lubricating essential parts and systems. It also collects any dirt or debris kicked up from the road—including winter road salt. When the oil becomes too dirty or clogged, it can no longer protect the engine, so it’s a good idea to schedule an oil change for the start of the new season.

Swap Out Seasonal Tires

In many cases, you may want to change your tires for cold weather driving, in which case, it’s time to swap back. If you retained your all-season tires, now is an excellent time to inspect and fill them in case they lost pressure due to cold temperatures.
