While you may want to buy or lease a new Chevy car from our Allentown, PA Chevy dealership, doing so may not be your smartest option. In many cases, looking for pre-owned cars for sale is the wiser play for several key reasons. For starters, previously owned automobiles don’t depreciate as quickly as new cars and they’re typically less expensive to register and insure.
Surprisingly, shopping for a pre-owned truck is different than window-shopping for other body styles. That’s usually because trucks are used for more rigorous purposes than alternative body styles, so you have to pay more attention to certain key issues.
How a Previously Owned Truck Has Been Used
Many motorists get a truck because they tow and/or haul gear regularly. Others seek out trucks because they enjoy off-roading. In either case, a given truck may have been driven quite differently than a pre-owned sedan or hatchback.
To get an idea of how much towing a truck may have experienced look for signs of excessive wear and tear, such as a worn tow hitch. If you’re curious about how much off-roading a truck has done, look for indications that the vehicle may have been used for off-roading often, like bent parts in the undercarriage, or scratches in the truck’s paint.
Should You Consider a Commercial Work Truck?
Many commercial trucks are only used by a business for three to five years. Depending on the industry they were used in and other factors, these trucks may have experienced either much less or a lot more wear and tear than non-commercial trucks. Do your due diligence if you’re considering a pre-owned commercial truck.
